Hong Kong Society Gloucestershire Region
Mid-Autumn Festival Lunch
I am delighted to be able to let you know that the next Gloucestershire Region lunch – a slightly belated Mid-Autumn Festival celebration - will take place on Wednesday 2 October.
As is traditional, the lunch will be at The Royal Oak in Prestbury, Cheltenham; and as is also traditional, it will be good value, delicious and great fun. Furthermore, we shall have both the Society’s past Chairman, Nigel Johnson-Hill, to tell us about his recently-published book, From Hell, With Love, and Martin Barrow, who will brief us on the current situation in Hong Kong
Please ‘save the date’ if you think you will be able to attend – I know that HK Society members have really full forward social/travel schedules!
Apart from the diary work, the only thing you need to do now (or at least by end-June, if you could, please) is to let me know via the Society’s office communications@hkas.org.uk if you expect to be able to come; there is absolutely no commitment yet, so you can be optimistic. Please choose a response along the lines of :
[A] I/we would like to attend, and expect to be able to do so
[B] Currently it looks unlikely that I/we will be able to be with you, but please keep me/us in the loop
In July, I will contact everyone who has responded with full details and asking for confirmations etc
I shall look forward to hearing from you and, of course, to seeing you in October. Meantime, if you have questions of any kind, please ask
Alastair Scott
Convenor, Gloucestershire Region
